Know that feeling?

June 21, 2012

You know that feeling when you have a half day at work and so you don’t pack a lunch because you figure, “hey, its a half day, i’ll get home early enough to have a solid lunch before heading out to be the only Vegan within a 20 mile radius of a crab feast with your husband for his work”, but by the time you wait 30 minutes in the heat for the bus to get to you, you get to your car, drive home you realize you left your keys in the office back at work.  So you drive back to work, park on the streets with the change you scrounged up from your change purse because you left your wallet in your husband’s car, get in, grab keys, are reminded of the crappy work environment you’re dealing with, battle traffic the whole way home, make it in the door, to open an email that reminds you AGAIN of the crappy work environment you’re dealing with, then realize that its too late in the day to make a full lunch, since you’ll be leaving soon for the crab feast, that may or may not have beer and whose options for those who “don’t eat crab” include fried chicken, corn on the cob, salads and fruit?

Yeah.  That was fun.   But I got some sweet corn for tomorrow night.  Small victories?

Every morning I think ‘I won’t bother making lunch I’m not even hungry’ and then by 11am I’m shuffling through drawers looking for a muesli bar. I’ve been doing that for 20 years and still haven’t learned the lesson

Ha! That’s exactly why I try to make my lunches the night before, so its a no thinking required grab and go 🙂 Yesterday was just a fluke!
